Pregnancy Symptoms and/or Signs: The Early Signs and Symptoms of Pregnancy
The early pregnancy symptoms/signs may vary in their duration, frequency as well as intensity. It is also important to note that while there are symptoms that are very common among many women, some of these symptoms may not be experienced by some women as well.
These symptoms of pregnancy may be different for every woman. There are also early indications and signs of pregnancy that may appear and feel similar to the normal pre menstrual symptoms. There are some women who are not trying to conceive a child who may think that what they are experiencing are just the symptoms of their incoming menstrual period, when in fact what they are experiencing are already signs of pregnancy.
Pregnancy Symptoms/Signs: Skipped Periods
The most common of all pregnancy symptoms/signs is having a missed or skipped period. This is one of the earliest signs of a woman being pregnant. While having a skipped period is already a possibility of pregnancy, a woman may also experience skipped periods due to other medical issues such as hormonal imbalance.
However, this is one of the main reasons why a lot of women are urged to research more information about the other signs of pregnancy. It is also important to note that some women who have already conceived a child may still experience menstrual periods, but these are lighter compared to the usual volume that they get during their normal menstrual periods.
Pregnancy Symptoms/Signs: Feelings of being Pregnant
Aside from missed or skipped periods, there are also a lot of women who experience other pregnancy symptoms and/or signs such as feeling or an intuition that they are pregnant. This is another of the main reasons why many women search for more information regarding the other signs and indications of being pregnant.
Some women may feel moody, lightheaded, queasy, or tired. Some may also experience constipation, frequent urination or heartburns. Extremely sensitive or sore breasts, stiffness or lower back aches are also some early signs of pregnancy. Most often than not, these “intuitions” about being pregnant are not only thoughts but are actually the reality already.
Pregnancy Symptoms/Signs: Tenderness or Soreness in the Breasts
One of the earliest and most noticeable pregnancy symptom or sign is sore, swollen, and tender breasts. This signs of pregnancy are most evident at night when they are trying to find a comfortable position to sleep. During shower time or performing exercises and other physical activities, the feeling of soreness, swelling, and tenderness in the breasts can also be experienced by women in the early stages of their pregnancy.
This symptom can also be felt most especially during dressing up. Aside from the breasts getting swollen and tender, the nipples may also become more sensitive and sore. This is due to the hormones preparing a woman’s body for the production of milk.
Pregnancy Symptoms/Signs: Fatigue
Fatigue and exhaustion are also early pregnancy symptoms and signs that most women who have conceived a child may experience. The need to rest and go to bed early may be the results of signs of fatigue in pregnant women.
Some women who are pregnant may also find it hard to get out of the bed and start their usual daily activities. Because of fatigue, performing simple exercises and other physical activities may seem like a huge effort. The usual easy things to do may leave pregnant women feeling tired like they have performed a lot of activities. This early symptom of pregnancy is due to the increased hormonal levels in a woman’s body.
Pregnancy Symptoms/Signs: Nausea or Dizziness that Results in Fainting
Nausea and dizziness are other common pregnancy symptoms/signs that most women experience. Queasiness and dizziness may even result in fainting attacks. Nausea usually occurs within a week of conceiving a child. Nausea is usually present in the morning and this type of pregnancy indication is more commonly known as the morning sickness.
While nausea is mostly experienced by pregnant women in the morning, there are some who may experience this symptom in the afternoon. There are also some pregnant women who may feel nauseous all day.
Dizziness and fainting are two pregnancy symptoms/signs that are felt by a lot of pregnant women. Doing simple thinks like climbing the stairs, suddenly standing up after having sitting for some time or standing in line may cause dizziness and lightheadedness in pregnant women. This early sign of pregnancy is actually a result of the uterus swelling and compressing the arteries located in the legs. When this happens, the blood pressure will drop and will result in a dizzy feeling. Low blood sugar levels can also cause dizziness since the main source of food of babies comes from their mothers’ blood sugar levels. To avoid this from happening, pregnant women should frequently eat healthy snacks.
